Background of Existence
The Christian and Missionary Alliance sent missionaries to Laos in the 1950's. Boua Ya Thao became the first Hmong Christian. Acaas Xeev Pov Thoj, Acaas Xyuj Xub Thoj and Acaas Nyiaj Lauj Xyooj were the three Hmong elected to President of the Lao Evangelical Church. December 14, 1978, a meeting was called by the C&MA in Rolling J. Ranch, CA to establish Hmong Field Conference. 2018 marks the 40 years of Hmong District existence as an ethnic district of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Thousand of people anticipated in Saint Paul, MN for the celebration during Memorial Day weekend.
