Meet our new AWM Treasurer, Maab Khaab (Mang Khang) from Auburn, GA. Hear from her directly.
Nyob Zoo! Kuv lub npe yog Maab Khaab.
I was born in San Diego, California and currently live in Auburn, Georgia. I am the 2nd youngest child of 11 children. I graduated from Toccoa Falls College in 2012 with a Degree in Family and Children’s Ministry and a minor in Early Childhood Education.
God is good! The moment I tasted the Love of Christ, I also accepted my calling to be His servant to further His Kingdom. Ever since then, I’ve experienced His blessings upon my life one after another. Through the ups and downs of life’s trials, the Lord has shown Himself faithful and I cannot see myself doing anything besides serving God and His people. Whenever I am given a chance to lead, oversee, or serve a group of people, I am always reminded of what the apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinthian. I am reminded “to stand firm in the faith and to do everything in love.”
My Favorite Bible Verse: “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
I see serving God and God's people as a privilege so I try to stay faithful to God and His calling for my life. These are just a few things that the Lord has given me the privilege to serve in and with:
- I've been serving in the children's ministry since high school. While I was in college at TFC, I served as a Sunday School teacher for my local church Hmong New Hope Alliance Church in Auburn, GA. After I graduated from TFC in 2012, I served as DMD director for the next 4 years.
- While serving as DMD director, I got involved in Alliance Women Ministries because I wanted to partner with the parents of the children we served. I served as Praise and Worship Leader for AW for 1-2 years. I served as part of the praise and worship band for AW retreat for several years. I served as part of the Fellowship committee for a year. I also served as part of the Missions Committee for 2 years.
- This year, I am serving as the church secretary at HNHAC.
- I have had the privilege to go on 3 missions trip, 1 to Chiang Mai and Nan,Thailand and 2 times to Yangon, Myanmar. I have also had the privilege to go teach English in China for 5 months in 2016-2017.
