COURSE:  MIS-104: Intro to World Mission

COURSE DESCRIPTION

MIS 203 is an introduction to World Missions is a college-transferable course designed for the advanced students of The Church Leadership Academy of The Hmong District. Prerequisites are basic level graduate, AA degree, or college study experiences. This course surveys the expansion of Christian missions throughout the history of the Church with an emphasis on the methods and principles of the modern world and missions equipping students to actively participate in the mission work. MS 203 is an approved college transfer course and can be taken for MSP, undergraduate, or graduate credit. Graduate students will complete additional coursework.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course students would be able to:

 

  1. A. Recognize the biblical demands of both the Old and the New Testaments for missions.

  2. B. Understand how Christianity has expanded throughout the world since the beginning of the Church until today and know how to prepare for it.

  3. C. Recognize the missionary movement of other agencies and the C&MA in terms of vision, principles, and methods. 

  4. D. Be able to develop a plan for individuals or a church to get involved in missions or to support the mission ventures of the C&MA.
